Enjoy a superb holiday at the lovely Blythswood Square Hotel in the heart of Glasgow

Glasgow may not be the capital but it’s the biggest city in Scotland and is known to be very culturally rich. It can be easily reached by air by heading to Glasgow Prestwick International Airport, or by train at Central Station from another part of the UK. The public transport network in this city is excellent allowing travellers to easily get around, as well as go further afield to other Scottish cities and towns such as Inverness and Aberdeen. It is an interesting place to discover by walking, but it’s equally good to see the sights on a bike. Glasgow has many gorgeous buildings that include its beautiful cathedral that’s well worth a visit. It is a stunning piece of Gothic architecture that dates from medieval times and is free to enter. The Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, based at Glasgow University, is a superb place to venture to for a morning or afternoon. At this venue there is a reconstruction of renowned architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s house. Another amazing place to head to in the summer months is Holmwood House, created by another famous architect, Alexander Thomson. Tourists will adore this impressive venue and really appreciate the building.

This exciting city is also famous for having outstanding parks and large green spaces where travellers can head to for a walk, cycling or a picnic. For something special tourists should head to the Botanic Gardens in the West End that have tropical plant collections from around the globe. Tollcross Park is famous for its Rose Garden and Winter Gardens and various gems such as a children’s farm and nature walks. There is much to see and do in Glasgow and visitors would be wise to plan ahead when they head to this fantastic Scottish city.
