What’s Happening at The Paris Pompidou Centre This Spring

Paul Klee at The Pompidou Centre
Paris is famous for many things but nearing the top of that venerable list is surely the city’s arts offerings. With such a rich past is supporting the arts, this amazing gallery is one of the jewels in the city’s cultural crown. Housed within a visually stunning building – while The Pompidou Centre is a little bit out of the way it is definitely worth the trek, what’s more, it houses over four floors of works and you can easily spend a whole lot of time here. This amazing art gallery hosts both an esteemed permanent collection with some of the most important contemporary, abstract and modernist works in the world, though also plays host to a number of temporary collections. One of the most anticipated forthcoming collections the gallery will soon be hosting is a very exciting single artist exhibitioncelebrating the work of Paul Klee. Running from the 6th April through to the 10th August this very exciting exhibition offers a retrospective of this sometime controversial artist. A Swiss-German artist, Paul Klee was an essential figure in cubism and modern art, exhibiting across the world, a proving to be a highly influential artists for many artists working today. Located in the second gallery, this brilliant exhibition offers a stunning overview of this fascinating artists most important and arresting works.

XiuXiu
The Pompidou Centre houses more than art exhibitions and is something of a cultural hot spot for all manner of artistic events and happenings. Another hugely anticipated event coming soon to the gallery is the amazing American experimental band XiuXiu performing their latest offering, a reworking of the music used on the cult television show Twin Peaks. On the 8th of April within the atrium, this amazing event is not to be missed.
